LG G6 coming to India soon, pre-registration has started already

LG had announced its latest flagship smartphone, the G6 at the MWC 2017 in Barcelona back in February. After being rolled out in Korea, USA and Canada earlier this month, the G6 is coming to India soon. Customers can now pre-register for the smartphone by visiting the LG G6 page and filling up their details. The company has not announced the exact launch date yet but it is expected to be launched in April as its rival Samsung is launching the Galaxy S8 and S8+ in India on April 19.

The LG G6 features a 5.7-inch (2880 x 1440 pixels) Quad HD+ LCD FullVision display, which has an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a pixel density of 564 PPI. It is powered by a 2.35GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor along with Adreno 530 GPU. It comes with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal memory (UFS 2.0), which can also be expanded further up to 2TB by adding a microSD card. The device runs on LG UX 6.0 based on Android 7.0 Nougat OS. It also has the Google Assistant. The G6 is IP68 rated, hence water and dust proof. It can be safely immersed in water up to 1.5 meters for 30 minutes.

The G6 rocks a dual camera setup at the back like its predecessor. There are two 13 megapixel rear cameras with dual-tone LED flash and Laser Auto Focus. The primary camera has an aperture of f/1.8, while the secondary lens comes with a f/2.4 aperture and 125-degree lens. It has Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) 2.0, 71-degree wide-angle lens and can shoot 4K videos. On the front, there is a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with 100-degree wide-angle lens and f/2.2 aperture for clicking selfies and making video calls.

The LG is the first smartphone in the world to come with Dolby Vision technology. There is also HDR 10 support. The fingerprint sensor is located at the back. It has a metal body, that is 7.9mm thick and weighs 163 grams. We also get 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC support for an extraordinary audio experience.

In the connectivity department, the G6 includes 4G VoLTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, GPS, GLONASS, NFC and USB Type-C 2.0 (3.1 compatible). The phablet packs in a 3300mAh battery under the hood with support for Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0.

The LG G6 will be available in Ice Platinum, Mystic White and Astro Black color variants. The phone is expected to be priced around Rs. 50,000.
