LG G5 with Snapdragon 820, 4GB RAM, Always ON display coming on February 21

The upcoming LG flagship smartphone will pack in a serious punch and the company has already revealed some tidbits about the device. LG G5 will come with a ‘Always ON’ display. It will “Never go asleep while others do”. Rumoured specifications were available in the market but now some of them can be confirmed courtesy of a listing on Geekbench. It confirms the presence of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 chipset and 4 GB of RAM. Lets have a look at the complete rumoured specs.

LG G5 Rumoured Specifications


The LG G5 is expected to feature a 5.3-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) Quad HD display along with a secondary ticker display, similar to the LG V10. It will be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 64-bit processor along with Adreno 530 GPU. It will have 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, that can be expanded via microSD card. The flagship smartphone will run on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the latest LG UX on top of it.

Coming to the cameras, it will sport dual 16 megapixel rear cameras with dual-tone LED flash, 135-degree wide-angle lens, Laser Auto Focus and support for 4K video recording. It will come with a 8 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. It will also incorporate a fingerprint sensor, likely situated at the back side.

The LG G5 will include 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.1 LE with aptX and GPS as connectivity options. It will pack in a 2,800 mAh removable battery under the hood.

The LG G5 will be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona on February 21 at 14:00 CET (6:30 PM IST).
