LG G4 flagship smartphone was announced back in April. Now, the company has introduced a new variant of the same in Korea. It is the LG G4 White Gold Edition and LG says it is targeted towards “women and young customers”.
Instead of jumping on the Rose Gold bandwagon, LG has announced a White Gold Edition of the LG G4 in Korea. The device has white paint on the front and back while the sides are wrapped in Gold. The back panel has a white matte finish instead of the leather back found on the original LG G4. The company had also launched the Metallic variant of the G4 in India which costs less than the leather back one. Lets check out the specifications.
LG G4 White Gold Edition Specifications and Features
The LG G4 White Gold Edition features a polycarbonate body with a slight curve which would make it 20% more rigid and improve the handling. It has a 5.5-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) Quantum HD display which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It comes with a pixel density of 534ppi and has a screen-to-body ratio of 74.3%. According to LG, this display is about 25% brighter, has 50% more contrast and 20% wider colour reproduction than the G3.
The G4 is powered by 1.8 GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor along with Adreno 418 GPU. It has 3 GB of RAM and comes with 32 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with LG UX 4.0 custom skin on top of it. The updated OS from LG comes with a lot of new features retaining some proprietary software like Knock On, KnockCode and health app. The phablet is 8.9 mm thick and comes with a 1W speaker which it retains from the G3. It also has volume rocker and power button at the back.
The LG G4 White Gold Edition comes with a 16 megapixel rear primary camera with dual-tone dual LED flash, laser auto-focus and optical image stabilization. It comes with f/1.8 aperture which allows 80% more light than the G3. It can shoot 2160p videos at 30fps and 1080p at 60fps. The G4 can shoot panoramas up to 104 megapixel. On the front, it has a 8 megapixel front-facing camera with ultra-thin IR filter for great selfies and video calling.
The LG G4 includes 4G LTE (Cat6), 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (dual band), WiFi Direct, DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0, A2DP, LE, apt-X, A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC, IR blaster, FM Radio with RDS as connectivity options. The phablet packs in a 3,000 mAh removable battery under the hood and supports fast charging. The battery charges up to 60% in about 30 minutes, according to LG. It also supports wireless charging using Qi-enabled wireless chargers.
The LG G4 White Gold Edition has been priced at Korean Won 699,600 (US $602 / INR Rs 39,848 approximately) in South Korea. There is no information of the device coming to global markets yet.
