The LG G Flex 2 features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Plastic OLED display featuring Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for protection, which is smaller than its predecessor which was a 6-inch 720p display. The same display has been used on the LG G Watch R smart watch. It is powered by 2.0 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 810 64-bit processor. The G Flex 2 has 2 GB of RAM and 16/32 GB of internal storage which can also be expanded via microSD card.
The LG G Flex 2 will run on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. It will also have three new gesture controls – Gesture shot, Gesture View and Glance View. The Gesture shot mode is already seen on the LG G3, while the Gesture View will allow us to easily check the last photo after capturing it. With Glance View, we can check all the notifications on the display.
On the camera front, it features a 13 megapixel rear camera with dual LED true-tone flash and OIS+ optical stabilization. It will also be occupied by the laser auto focus technology, which was first seen on the LG G3. There is also a 2.1-megapixel front-facing camera for clicking selfies and video calling. The company claims that the curved display on the LG G Flex 2 is 20% tougher than the original G Flex. LG has also enhanced the speed of the self-healing back panel which is the speciality of the device. The original G Flex took about three minutes to heal, while the new one will disappear in around 10 seconds at room temperature. That is super cool.
