Lenovo officially launches A5000 and P70 in India for Rs 9999 and Rs 15999 respectively

Lenovo has officially launched the A5000 and P70 in India on May 5. These smartphones are priced at Rs 9,999 and Rs 15,999 respectively.

Both Lenovo A5000 and Lenovo P70 went on sale in India couple of weeks ago itself but were officially launched on May 5 in India. Commenting on the launch, Sudhin Mathur, Director – Smartphones, Lenovo India said,

“Lenovo has been a pioneer in long battery life smartphones starting with P780 in 2013. With P70 & A5000 we are looking at further extending our relationship with long-lasting smartphones. Customers have repeatedly highlighted a desire for improved battery life at the top of shoppers most wished for smartphone feature. With both these smartphones now available in the Indian market the users can stop worrying about the battery life, enjoy uninterrupted gaming experience or watch high-definition movies and stay connected while on the move”.

The Lenovo A5000 features a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display which is powered by 1.3 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor along with Mali 400 GPU. It has 1 GB of RAM and comes with 8 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded via microSD card. The device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with the company’s Vibe 2.0 UI on top of it. Hopefully it will get an Android 5.0 Lollipop update as well.

The Lenovo A5000 comes with a 8-megapixel auto-focus rear primary camera with LED flash. On the front, it has a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. The smartphone is 9.98 mm thick and weighs 160 grams. It has dual SIM (mini + micro) support.

The Lenovo A5000 Plus includes 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a whopping 4,000 mAh battery under the hood which promises up to 35 hours talk time and up to 33.5 days battery standby.

The Lenovo P70 features a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD capacitive touch screen display which is powered by 1.5 GHz Octa-Core MediaTek MT6752 processor along with 700 MHz Mali T760-MP2 GPU. It has 1/2 GB of RAM and comes with 8/16 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with the company’s Vibe 2.0 UI on top of it. Hopefully it will get an Android 5.0 Lollipop update as well.

The Lenovo P70 comes with a 13 megapixel rear primary camera with LED flash. On the front, it has a 5 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. The smartphone is 8.9 mm thick and weighs 149 grams. It has dual SIM and both fits in microSIM.

The Lenovo P70 includes 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS/A-GPS as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a whopping 4,000 mAh battery under the hood which promises up to 34 days standby time along with up to 46 hours talk time on 2G, up to 29 days standby time and 18 hours talk time on 3G. This smartphone can also act as a power bank and charge other devices on-the-go with the included micro USB cable.
