Lenovo owned Motorola had announced the Moto Z in the all new ‘Z’ series at the Tech World 2016 Conference in San Francisco. Now, the company has launched the device in India at an event in Delhi today along with the Moto Mods. Lets have a look at the features, specifications and pricing of the Moto Z below.
Motorola Moto Z Specifications
The Motorola Moto Z features a 5.5-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) Quad HD AMOLED display that is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass and has a pixel density of 535 PPI. It is powered by a 2.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 64-bit processor along with Adreno 530 GPU. It has 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM and comes with 64 GB of internal memory, which can further be expanded up to 2 TB via microSD card. The device runs on the latest Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS out of the box.
The Moto Z rocks a 13 megapixel primary rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/1.8 aperture, 1.12 µm pixel size, Laser Auto Focus, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). On the front, it has a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and wide-angle lens for selfies and video calling. It supports Dual SIM (nano), comes with an all metal body, that is just 5.19 mm thick and weighs 136 grams. It houses a fingerprint scanner at the front. It has water-repellent nano-coating, comes with a USB-C port (no traditional 3.5 mm audio jack) for headphones, charging and data. We also have front-ported loud speakers along with 4-mics.
It includes 4G LTE (Cat 9) with VoLTE support, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS as connectivity options. The phablet packs in a 2,600 mAh battery with support for Turbo Charging.
The Moto Z supports modular accessories called the ‘Moto Mods’. They get attached to 12 “magic pins” that are located at the bottom back of the device. These Moto Mods consist of a Moto Insta-Share Projector, JBL SoundBoost, Moto Shells and instant Power Pack.
The Moto Insta-Share Projector will turn the phone into a 70-inch projector, that can project at a wall or ceiling with 90 degree projection angle. The JBL SoundBoost and Power Pack will boost audio and increase battery life up to 22 hours, respectively. Also, the swappable Moto Style Shells now use premium materials such as real wood, leather, or patterned fabric.
The Motorola Moto Z has been priced at Rs 39,999 in India. It will be sold exclusively via Amazon India and Flipkart starting from October 17, 2016. The Wooden and Ballistic nylon style shells are priced at Rs 1,099 (bundled price Rs 899), Leather Style shell at Rs 1599 (bundled price Rs 1,299), Incipio offGRID Power Pack at Rs 5,999 (bundled price Rs 4,999), JBL Soundboost speaker at Rs 6,999 (bundled price Rs 5,999), Insta-share Projector at Rs 19,999 (bundled price Rs 15,999) and Hasselbad True Zoom Camera at Rs 19,999 (bundled price Rs 14,999).
Lenovo India has also launched the Moto Z Play priced at Rs 24,999.
