Lenovo announced the A6000 at CES 2015 in Las Vegas, which was specially introduced for the Indian market to be sold exclusively on Flipkart. It was launched in India on January 16 for Rs 6,999 and first flash sale took place on January 28 and second flash sale is on February 4. Registrations for second flash started at 6pm on January 28 and ended yesterday midnight.
The Lenovo A6000’s first pilot flash sale took place at 2pm on January 28 with 10,000 units and sold out in 2 seconds. The second flash sale with 20,000 units of Lenovo A6000 will go on sale today (Feb 4) on Flipkart and pre-registered users can take part in the sale. To successfully purchase the device, login to your Flipkart account 10 minutes prior to the sale i.e., at 1:50pm. You need some luck on your side, as the device (10,000 units) got sold out in 2 seconds on first sale, but Lenovo has doubled the number of units (20,000 units) for this week.
Lenovo A6000 Specifications
The Lenovo A6000 features a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display which is powered by 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor along with Adreno 306 GPU. It has 1 GB of RAM and comes with 8 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded via microSD card. The device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with the company’s Vibe 2.0 UI on top of it. Hopefully it will get an Android 5.0 Lollipop update as well.
The Lenovo A6000 comes with a 8-megapixel auto-focus rear primary camera with LED flash. On the front, it has a 2-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. The smartphone is 8.2 mm thick and weighs 128 grams. It has dual SIM and both fits in microSIM.
The Lenovo A6000 includes 4G LTE (TD-LTE 2300 MHz & FDD-LTE 1800 MHz), 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a 2,300 mAh battery under the hood.
