LeEco had partnered with Flipkart when they entered the Indian smartphone market with the launch of Le 1s and Le Max back in January this year. Now, both the companies have extended the exclusive partnership. Le 2, Le 2Pro and Le Max2 were launched in China recently and might be launched in India in the coming weeks.
LeEco has already sold over 4,00,000 units of the Le 1s and Le Max smartphones in India so far since launch. An event has been scheduled on May 3 in Mumbai where we might see the company launching the new smartphones but it is more focused on entertainment (VR, accessories and original content). LeEco has also filed an application with the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) for undertaking single brand retail trading of electronic products both through brick and mortar stores and e-commerce portal, to strengthen its foothold in India.
