Karbonn K9 Smart officially launched in India for Rs 3990

Karbonn K9 Smart has been officially launched in India. It is the latest entry-level smartphone from the company. Lets check out the specifications of the device.


Karbonn K9 Smart Specifications

The Karbonn K9 Smart features a 5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) FWVGA display that is powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor. It has 512 MB of RAM and comes with 8 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat OS out of the box.

The K9 Smart comes with a 3.2 megapixel rear primary camera with LED flash. On the front, there is a 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. The smartphone supports Dual SIM, also comes with a 3.5 mm audio jack and FM Radio. It is 10.1 mm thick and weighs 146.3 grams.

The K9 Smart includes 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a 2,300 mAh battery under the hood. It supports 12 Indian languages at the system level, typing support in 21 languages and phone/contacts access in 11 languages.


The Karbonn K9 Smart is available in Black color and has been priced at Rs 3,990 in India. The company had recently launched the Karbonn Titanium Moghul smartphone in the country.

On this launch, Shashin Devsare, Executive Director, Karbonn Mobiles said:

“With the launch of the K9 Smart, the company aims to dissolve language barriers, which are a major impediment inhibiting smartphone adoption among the non-English speaking population.

The growing consumption of local language content on mobile phones is a clear indicator of the need for vernacularising the smartphone ecosystem for bridging the gaping digital divide.”
