Apple’s iPad growth has slowed down recently and they are looking to change the situation by introducing a bigger 12.9-inch iPad in early 2015 as reported by Bloomberg.
The 12.9-inch iPad rumour started back in 2013 which supposedly dubbed it as “iPad Pro” which would basically try to take up space between an ultrabook and a tablet for both productive work as well as consume media. It was rumoured to launch in 2014 itself but it looks like the project got delayed.
Also, the rumours suggest that the larger 12.9-inch iPad will include a very high pixel resolution display which would certainly be higher than the current Retina displays. The iPad Pro would take design clues from it’s cousins, the iPad Air and the iPad Mini. They would feature an ultrathin chassis with narrow side bezels.
With the recent partnership between Apple and IBM, the iPad Pro would be used a lot in the Enterprise market. Already, around 99% Fortune 500 companies use iOS devices and it surely would go higher with the IBM deal. The 12.9-inch iPad would certainly be the best hardware to blend both OS X and iOS feel together.
Apple is also working on the next generation iPad Air and Retina iPad Mini along with the delayed iPad Pro. The new iPad Air will supposedly come with 2 GB RAM and would also include Touch ID along with faster processors. iPhone 6 is also about to be unveiled by Apple on September 9.
