After a long absence from the Indian smartphone market, InFocus is back in the game with the launch of Turbo 5. It is an affordable budget 4G smartphone which comes in two variants in terms of RAM and storage. It will be manufactured by Foxconn in the country. However, the main USP of the InFocus Turbo 5 is its 5000 mAh battery packed in a metal body, which also runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box. Today, we bring you the detailed review of the InFocus Turbo 5 to find out if it’s the best smartphone below 10000 but before diving into the review, have a quick look at its specifications.

The InFocus Turbo 5, one of the latest Android smartphones, is powered by a MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor clocked at 1.25GHz, 2/3GB RAM, 16/32GB internal storage and runs on Android 7.0 Nougat OS. It features a 5.2-inch HD IPS display, 13 megapixel rear and 5 megapixel front cameras. It is a VoLTE mobile with Dual SIM support. We get a fingerprint sensor at the back and a 5000 mAh battery under its hood with reverse charging facility.

First of all, lets start with the design of the phone. The Turbo 5 rocks an all metal body along with a 2.5D curved glass display panel on the front. The 5.2-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) hits the sweet spot and is very comfortable to hold. This also makes the phone very ergonomic. In spite of packing a massive battery, it is only 9mm thick and weighs 164 grams. Thus, the phone feels very light in hand and makes the overall experience very smooth. You can easily hold the phone for long hours for work, entertainment or play.

As we all know the main USP of this VoLTE smartphone is its 5000 mAh battery. According to InFocus, it promises up to 23 hours of talk time and 34 days of standby time on a single charge. In fact, you can play 50 hours of music and 15 hours of online video as well. Also, there is support for USB OTG reverse charging and thus you can use the Turbo 5 as a powerbank and charge other phones.

In terms of performance, we get a MediaTek MT6737 quad-core processor for powering the phone. This is a well-known budget processor from the house of MediaTek which can handle day-to-day tasks with ease. To take care of multitasking, we have options of both 2GB and 3GB of RAM. We would suggest the users to get the 3GB RAM mobile variant because a smartphone with 3GB RAM helps a lot in heavy multitasking and gaming. The phone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat OS and according to InFocus, it will get an Android 8.0 update when it is released by Google. Thus, the InFocus Turbo 5’s performance feels superior due to its stock UI and we get features such as quick app switching, multi-window multitasking, doze mode and more. In spite of such powerful performance at budget pricing, the smartphone feels very light and refreshing.

Talking about the camera, there is a 13 megapixel primary rear camera along with a 5 megapixel selfie camera. Both of them have f/2.2 apertures. The rear camera is able to capture images with good color saturation in bright outdoor conditions. The focusing was sharp as well. The front camera did a decent job at taking selfies. The camera app includes various modes such as Face Beauty, HDR, Night. There are options such adjusting White Balance, Anti Shake, Exposure. You can also use manual mode to set ISO.

The InFocus Turbo 5, a 4G mobile, has all the modern connectivity options such as 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB OTG. We also get a fingerprint sensor at the back, which can unlock the phone in just 0.5 seconds and it works really well. This fingerprint mobile makes the device very secure. The phone comes in two colors – Pure Gold and Mocha Gold. The latter looks more exclusive and classy.
