Huawei has officially launched two new flagship smartphones – Huawei P9 Plus and P9 at an event in London. Both of them features dual 12 megapixel rear cameras that come with Leica SUMMARIT lenses and 1.25 micron pixels, which promises brilliant image quality in low-light scenarios. Huawei P9 Plus Specifications
The Huawei P9 Plus features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD AMOLED Press Touch display which comes with 2.5 curved glass. It detects multiple levels of pressure on the screen, thus allowing the user to complete different actions such as launching an app or zooming into a picture by applying pressure. It is powered by an octa-core Kirin 955 (Quad 2.5 GHz A72 + Quad 1.8 GHz A53) 64-bit processor along with Mali T880-MP4 GPU. It has 4 GB of RAM and comes with 64 GB of internal storage that can be further expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box with EMUI 4.1 on top of it.
The P9 Plus rocks a 12 megapixel dual rear primary camera with dual-tone LED flash, Leica SUMMARIT lenses, f/2.2 aperture, Laser Auto Focus. It has an independent depth measurement chip and proprietary hybrid-focus technology. Manual control and RAW support are available as well. On the front, there is a 8 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.4 aperture for selfies and video calling. It comes with Hybrid Dual SIM (nano + nano/microSD) support (depending on region), a 3.5 mm audio jack and Stereo speakers. It has a full metal body that is 6.98 mm thick. It comes with a fingerprint sensor on the back with 3D fingerprint sensor technology and packs an infrared sensor as well.
The P9 Plus comes with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, USB Type-C and GPS as connectivity options. The phablet packs in a 3,400 mAh battery under the hood that supports fast charging.
The Huawei P9 Plus is available in Quartz Grey, Haze Gold, Rose Gold and Ceramic White and it has been priced at £549 (US $776 / INR Rs 51,657 approximately). It will start rolling out from April 16, 2016.
The company has also launched the Huawei P9 smartphone, price starts at £449 (US $635 / INR Rs 42,197 approximately) for the 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM variant.
