Huawei had officially launched the Huawei P9 along with the P9 Plus at an event in London back in April this year. Both of them come with dual 12 megapixel rear cameras that feature the Leica SUMMARIT lenses and 1.25 micron pixels, which promises brilliant image quality in low-light scenarios.
Huawei India is gearing up to launch the P9 in the country on August 17. The company has started sending out media invites for a press conference in New Delhi for the launch of the flagship smartphone. The conference will be addressed by the CEO of Huawei Consumer Business. He will also discuss about the new product strategy for Huawei and highlight the growth plans for the company in India. We are not sure if the bigger variant, the P9 Plus will make its way to India or not. Lets check out the specifications of the P9 below, in case you have forgotten it.
Huawei P9 Specifications
The Huawei P9 features a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD AMOLED display which comes with 2.5 curved glass. It is powered by an octa-core Kirin 955 (Quad 2.5 GHz A72 + Quad 1.8 GHz A53) 64-bit processor along with Mali T880-MP4 GPU. It has 3 / 4 GB of RAM and comes with 32 / 64 GB of internal storage that can be further expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box with EMUI 4.1 on top of it.
The P9 rocks a 12 megapixel dual rear primary camera with dual-tone LED flash, Leica SUMMARIT lenses, f/2.2 aperture, Laser Auto Focus. It has an independent depth measurement chip and proprietary hybrid-focus technology. Manual control and RAW support are available as well. On the front, there is a 8 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.4 aperture for selfies and video calling. It comes with Hybrid Dual SIM (nano + nano/microSD) support, a 3.5 mm audio jack and Stereo speakers. It has a full metal body that is 6.95 mm thick and weighs 144 grams. It comes with a fingerprint sensor on the back with 3D fingerprint sensor technology and packs an infrared sensor as well.
The P9 comes with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, USB Type-C and GPS as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a 3,000 mAh battery under the hood that supports fast charging.
The Huawei P9 will be available in Mystic Silver, Titanium Grey, Haze Gold, Prestige Gold, Rose Gold and Ceramic White and the price starts at £449 (US $594 / INR Rs 39,602 approximately) for the 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM variant.
