Huawei P8max announced, price starts at 549 Euros

Along with the flagship P8, Huawei P8max has also been announced at the event. It is the elder brother of the Huawei P8 with a giant 6.8-inch display. Lets have a look at the specifications.


Huawei P8max Specifications

The Huawei P8max features a 6.8-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD JDI IPS-Neo display which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and has 83% screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by an octa-core Hisilicon Kirin 930/935 processor with Mali-T682 MP4 GPU. It has 3 GB of LPDDR3 RAM and comes with 16/64 GB of internal memory which is expandable via microSD card (second SIM slot). It runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop with Emotion UI 3.1 on top of it. The device is just 6.8 mm thick and weighs 228 grams.

The Huawei P8max rocks a 13 megapixel rear camera with dual colour temperature LED flash, OIS, RBGW sensor and F/2.0 aperture. On the front, it has a 5 megapixel front facing camera for selfies and video calling. It has spill-resistant nano coating as well.


The super sized phablet comes with DX19 high thermal conductivity alloy which is mainly found in luxury automobiles. The thermal conductivity coefficient is nine times higher than that of stainless steel, 2.8 times higher than aluminium – the magnesium alloy used in most flagship smartphones, according to Huawei.

The Huawei P8max comes with 4G LTE (Cat6), 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, NFC and GPS as connectivity options. It packs in a whopping 4,360 mAh battery under the hood. It is a dual SIM enabled phablet where one SIM card slot also doubles up as the microSD card slot.

The Huawei P8max will be available in Luxurious Gold, Mystic Champagne and Titanium Grey colour variants and has been priced at 549 Euros (US $589 / INR Rs 36,750 approximately) for the standard version (16GB). The ‘premium’ version with 64GB onboard memory will set you back by 649 Euros (US $697 / INR Rs 43,400 approximately). It is said to be launching in 30 countries in a month.
