Huawei had announced two new devices – Nova and Nova Plus in their new Nova series at the IFA 2016 in Berlin earlier this month. Now, the company has revealed that the Huawei Nova Plus will go on sale in Canada starting from October 18, 2016. It will be sold via three Canadian carriers – Rogers, Virgin Mobile and Fido.
Huawei did not announce specific Canada pricing of the Nova Plus yet but at launch the company had said that the Nova Plus would sell for €429 (US $482 approximately) in Europe. However, there is no confirmation if the smaller Huawei Nova is also coming to the country or not. Check out the specifications of the Nova Plus below.
Huawei Nova Plus Specifications
The Huawei Nova Plus features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD 2.5D curved glass display, that has 450 nits of brightness and has a 1500:1 contrast ratio. It is powered by a 2.0 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor along with Adreno 506 GPU. It has 3 GB of LPDDR3 RAM and comes with 32 GB of internal storage, that can be further expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS out of the box with EMUI 4.1 on top of it.
The Nova Plus rocks a 16 megapixel rear primary camera with dual-tone LED flash, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), that can shoot 4K videos. On the front, there is a 8 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calling. It has Hybrid Dual SIM (nano + nano / microSD card) support and comes with a 3.5 mm audio jack. It has a full metal body that is 7.3 mm thick and weighs 160 grams. It has a fingerprint sensor on the back, that unlocks the device in just 0.3 seconds. It comes with DTS headphone X audio technology for an enhanced audio experience.
The Nova Plus comes with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 LE, USB Type-C and GPS as connectivity options. The phablet packs in a 3,340 mAh battery under the hood. The Huawei Nova Plus is available in Mystic Silver, Prestige Gold and Titanium Grey color variants.
