Huawei MediaPad M2 tablet officially announced

Huawei MediaPad M2 tablet has been officially announced. It made an appearance at the official store in Paris last month. Lets look at the specifications.

The Huawei MediaPad M2 tablet features a 8-inch (1920 x 1200 pixels) IPS display with 400 nits brightness. It is powered by a 2 GHz octa-core Kirin 930 64-bit processor with Mali-T628 MP4 GPU. It has 2 GB / 3 GB of RAM and comes with 16 / 32 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS with Emotion UI 3.1 on top of it.

The MediaPad M2 tablet comes with a 8 megapixel rear primary camera with LED flash. On the front, it has a 2 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. It is 7.8mm thick and weighs 330 grams. It has a unibody metal build, dual stereo speakers with harman/kardon audio, HIFI Codec Hi6402 for signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 114dB, Smart Power Amplifier (PA) and Clari-Fi real audio technology offering enhanced audio experience for games, music and movies. SWS 2.0 on board promises wider sound field by creating 180-degrees surround sound.

The MediaPad M2 tablet includes 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS / aGPS as connectivity options. The tablet packs in a 4,800 mAh battery under the hood.

The Huawei MediaPad M2 will be available in Gold and Silver colour variants. It will go on sale starting in China, Western Europe and the South Pacific, followed by Russia, North and Eastern Europe and Japan. It also comes with optional magnetic smart cover that acts as a stand for convenient viewing. However, there is no information on the pricing yet.
