Huawei Mate S can now be pre-ordered in Europe

Huawei Mate S was announced at IFA 2015 at the start of this month. It can now be pre-ordered in Europe. Lets take a look at the pricing and availability of the phablet.


The Huawei Mate S phablet can now be pre-ordered from the official online store in France, Germany, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, the Netherlands, Spain, UK and Switzerland. It is available in two different colors – Mystic Champagne and Titanium Silver. It is priced at €649 in Euro zone, £469 in UK and CHF 649 in Switzerland. However, the device will start shipping only after four to five weeks from now.

Huawei Mate S Specifications

The Huawei Mate S features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD AMOLED 2.5D curved glass display, that is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The display is Force Touch enabled (only select models), that allows the users to complete different actions such as zooming in to a photo or launching an app by applying increasing pressure.

It is powered by Octa-core Huawei Kirin 935 processor (4 x A53 2.2 GHz + 4 x A53 1.5 GHz) along with Mali-T628 MP4 GPU. It has 3 GB of RAM and comes in 32 and 64 GB storage variants, which can be further expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box with Emotion UI 3.1 on top of it.

The Mate S comes with a 13 megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash and Optical Image stabilization (OIS). On the front, it has a 8 megapixel front-facing camera with soft LED flash for selfies and video calling. It has a uni-body metal finish that is 7.2 mm thick and weighs 156 grams. It also comes with a highly sensitive Fingerprint Sense 2.0 fingerprint sensor on the back.


The Mate S includes 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (dual band), Bluetooth 4.1 LE and GPS as connectivity options. The phablet packs in a 2,700 mAh battery under the hood.
