Huawei Mate 9 Pro with QHD display, 6GB RAM, 4000mAh battery goes official

Earlier this month, Huawei had launched its latest flagship phablet, the Mate 9 at an event in Germany. The company had also announced a limited edition Porsche Design Huawei Mate 9 at the same event. Now, the same device sans the Porsche Design branding and graphite finish has been launched in China as the Huawei Mate 9 Pro. Check out its specifications, features and pricing below.

Huawei Mate 9 Pro Specifications

The Huawei Mate 9 Pro features a 5.5-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) Quad HD 2.5D curved glass AMOLED display, that has a pixel density of 534 PPI and a screen-to-body ratio of 73.2%. It is powered by an octa-core Hisilicon Kirin 960 (Quad 2.4 GHz + Quad 1.8 GHz) processor with IntelliSense i6 sensor hub along with octa-core Mali G71 MP8 GPU. It comes with 4GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage or 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256 GB by pushing in a microSD card. The device runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box with Emotion UI 5.0 on top.

The Mate 9 Pro rocks a dual Leica setup at the back – a 20 megapixel (monochrome) and a 12 megapixel (RGB) rear camera with second generation Leica lenses. It has dual-tone LED flash, f/2.2 aperture, Laser AF, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) and can shoot 4K videos. It uses Huawei’s in-house ISP for post processing the images and comes with Hybrid Zoom that features 2x magnification (like the iPhone 7 Plus). There is a 8 megapixel front-facing camera with f/1.9 aperture to click selfies and make video calls. It comes with Hybrid Dual SIM support (nano + nano/microSD card) and a 3.5 mm audio jack. It is 7.5 mm thick and weigh 169 grams. This phone features a fingerprint sensor at the front that has been embedded into the home button.

In the connectivity and networking department, the Mate 9 Pro includes 4G VoLTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.2 LE, NFC, USB Type-C and GPS. Under the hood, the phablet packs in a 4,000 mAh Li-Po battery (non-removable) with SuperCharge technology, which promises a full day of battery life with just 20 minutes of charging time.

The Huawei Mate 9 Pro is available in Space Gray, Black, Moonlight Silver, Champagne Gold, Mocha Brown and Ceramic White color variants. It has been priced at CNY 4699 (US $684 / INR Rs 46,390 approximately) for the 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM variant whereas the 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM high-end model costs CNY 5299 (US $771 / INR Rs 52,304 approximately). It will go on sale in China this November itself but there is no information about its global release yet.
