The Huawei Maimang 5 features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD 2.5D curved glass display, that has 77.9% screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by 2.0 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 14nm processor along with Adreno 506 GPU. It comes with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage or 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box with EMUI 4.1 on top of it.

The Maimang 5 rocks a 16 megapixel rear primary camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, Sony IMX298 sensor, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF), Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), 6P lens and 4K video recording. On the front, there is a 8 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. It comes with Hybrid Dual SIM support (nano + nano/microSD) and a 3.5 mm audio jack. It has a full metal body that is 7.3 mm thick and weigh 160 grams. It features a fingerprint sensor on the back, that unlocks the phone in under 0.3 seconds.

The Maimang 5 comes with 4G with VoLTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, USB Type-C and GPS as connectivity options. The phablet packs in a 3,340 mAh battery under the hood.

The Huawei Maimang 5 is available in Moonlight Silver, Rose Gold and Champagne Gold color variants. It has been priced at CNY 2399 (US $359 / INR Rs 24,078 approximately) for the 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM variant and CNY 2599 (US $389 / INR Rs 26,087 approximately) for the 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM model. It can now be ordered in China and will go on sale starting from July 21, 2016. Recently, the company has launched the Huawei honor 8 in China as well.
