Huawei-made Google Nexus 6P now official, price starts at USD 499

Google has announced the new Huawei-made Google Nexus 6P, as expected at a media event in San Francisco today. Lets take a look at the specifications and pricing of the new Nexus that is the successor of the Nexus 6.


Google Nexus 6P Specifications

The Huawei-made Google Nexus 6P features a 5.7-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) Quad HD AMOLED display which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The display has a pixel density of 518 ppi. It is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 (Quad 1.5 GHz ARM A53 + Quad 1.8 GHz ARM A57) 64-bit processor along with Adreno 430 GPU. It has 3 GB of RAM and comes in 32 / 64 / 128 GB internal memory that cannot be expanded via microSD card. The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. Google Now voice assistant is now always on and will work even when the screen is off.

The Nexus 6P comes with a 12.3 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 1.55 µm pixels, f/2.0 aperture, smart burst. It can record 4K video and also slow motion video at 240 fps. On the front, it has a 8 megapixel front-facing camera with 1.4 µm pixels for selfies and video calling. The phablet has a full metal (anodized aluminium) body that is 7.3 mm thick, weighs just 178 grams and supports a Single Nano SIM. It comes with a fingerprint sensor named as Nexus Imprint on the back that can be used for secured lock, payments made via Android Pay, wake up the phone and unlock apps as well. It recognizes a fingerprint in less than 600 milliseconds, according to Google.

The Nexus 6P includes 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac (dual band), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and reversible USB Type-C port as connectivity options. The phablet packs in a 3,450 mAh battery under the hood that supports Quick Charging.

The Huawei-made Google Nexus 6P is available in Frost White, Aluminium and Graphite color variants and has been priced at US $499 (INR Rs 32,884 approximately) for the 32GB variant, US $549 (INR Rs 36,176 approximately) for 64GB and US $649 (INR Rs 42,769 approximately) for the 128GB edition. It can now be pre-ordered via the Google Store in USA, UK, Ireland and Japan starting today and will start shipping starting this October. The company has also launched LG-made Google Nexus 5X today.
