Huawei Honor Bee budget smartphone launching in India soon

Honor, a digital subsidiary of Huawei, had an event in Kolkata on April 14 showcasing the Honor 4X and Honor 6 Plus. The company also showed off the Huawei Honor Bee for the first time ever.


Huawei Honor Bee is a budget smartphone which will fit right below the Honor 4X in India. It will be available exclusively on Flipkart. However, it is expected to go on “open sale” rather than flash sale.

The hardware of Honor Bee is not extra ordinary but sufficient for an entry-level smartphone. It is made for one-hand usage and is expected to be priced around Rs 5,000-7,000. Honor plans to take on the likes of Redmi 2, Moto E 2nd Gen 3G and Lenovo A6000.

The smartphone has already been listed on Flipkart and as per the officials from Honor, it will be launching in couple of weeks. Lets go through the specifications of the smartphone.

Huawei Honor Bee Specifications


The Huawei Honor Bee features a 4.5-inch FWVGA display with 16:9 ratio, suitable for watching movies. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Spreadtrum SC7731 processor. It has 1 GB of RAM and comes with 8 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with lite version of Emotion UI 3.0 on top of it, and will get updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop OS after a while.

The Honor Bee comes with a 8 megapixel rear primary camera with dual LED flash. On the front, it has a 2 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. The smartphone supports Dual SIM, has 3.5 mm audio jack and FM radio. The dimensions are 129 x 66.3 x 10 mm which makes the device 10 mm thick.

The Honor Bee includes 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, WiFi Hotspot, Bluetooth with EDR and GPS as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a 1,730 mAh battery under the hood with power saving technology.
