Huawei has officially launched the Honor 8 in India, as expected. It is the second smartphone from Huawei in the country that features dual rear cameras. The first one was the Huawei P9 launched back in August. Lets take a look at the features, specifications and pricing of the Honor 8 below.
Honor 8 Specifications
The Honor 8 features a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD 2.5D curved glass display, which has 96% NTSC color gamut. It is powered by an octa-core Kirin 950 (Quad 2.3 GHz A72 + Quad 1.8 GHz A53) 16nm processor along with Mali T880-MP4 GPU. It comes with 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box with EMUI 4.1 on top of it.
The Honor 8 rocks 12 megapixel dual rear primary cameras (monochrome + color) with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.2 aperture, Laser Auto Focus and 6P lens. It has 1.4 µm pixel size and it promises extraordinary image quality in low-light photography. On the front, there is a 8 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.4 aperture for selfies and video calling. It comes with Single SIM and dedicated microSD card support, although there is a Hybrid Dual SIM variant in other parts of the world and rocks a 3.5 mm audio jack. It has a full metal body that is 7.45 mm thick and weigh 153 grams. It features a fingerprint sensor on the back along with an Infrared sensor on the top front.
The Honor 8 comes with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, USB Type-C and GPS as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a 3,000 mAh battery under the hood.
The Honor 8 is available in Sapphire Blue, Pearl White and Sunrise Gold color variants. It has been priced at Rs 29,999 in India. It is now selling via Flipkart, Amazon and Honor Store (online) and will soon be coming to the offline retailers as well. Huawei is giving 2 years of extended warranty, free replacement for 3 months for manufacturing defects and screen replacement warranty for 3 months. The company has also launched its cheaper variant called Honor 8 Smart and their first ‘Made in India’ phone, Honor Holly 3.
