Huawei Honor 7 unveiled in China, price starts at CNY 1999

Huawei Honor 7 has been announced at an event in China today, as expected. Lets go through the specifications of the device.


Huawei Honor 7 Specifications

The Huawei Honor 7 features a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD multi-touch in-cell display. It is powered by Octa-core Huawei Kirin 935 processor (4 x A53 2.2 GHz + 4 x A53 1.5 GHz) along with Mali-T628 MP4 GPU. It has 3 GB of RAM and comes in 16 and 64 GB storage variants, which can be further expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box with Emotion UI 3.1 on top of it.

The Honor 7 comes with a 20 megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.0 aperture and 6P lenses, Sony IMX230 sensor. On the front, it has a 8 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, BSI sensor and LED flash for selfies and video calling. It has dual SIM (optional) support, comes with 3.5 mm audio jack and IR LED blaster. Also, there is a highly sensitive fingerprint sensor, present at the back of the phone. It has uni-body with metal finish.


The Honor 7 includes 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (dual band), Bluetooth 4.1 LE, GPS and NFC as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a 3,100 mAh battery under the hood with fast charging. The phone charges up to 50% in just 30 minutes and 100% in around 1 hour and 25 minutes.

The Huawei Honor 7 is available in Silver, Gold and Gray colour variants and has been priced at 1999 CNY (US $322 / INR Rs 20,500 approximately) for the 16GB single SIM variant. The 16GB dual SIM variant will cost 2199 CNY (US $355 / INR Rs 22,550 approximately) and the 64GB dual SIM variant is priced at 2499 CNY (US $403 / INR Rs 25,600 approximately). It is going on pre-order from tomorrow (July 1) and going on sale in China from July 7. However, there is no information on the global roll out yet.

Meizu has also launched a similar device in China today – the MX5, which starts at CNY 1799. It will go on sale from July 5.
