Huawei announced the Honor 6 Plus phablet at an event in China, which doesn’t only have similar name as iPhone 6 Plus, but also has similar specifications to go with. The phablet is now globally available for US $399.
The Huawei Honor 6 Plus features a 5.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) in-cell LTPS display with 10 finger multi-touch and has 72.8% screen-to-body ratio and 2.8mm slim bezels on the side. It is powered by an Octa-core (4 x 1.8 GHz Cortex A15 + 4 x 1.3 GHz Cortex A7) Hisilicon Kirin 925 processor with Mali T682-MP4 GPU. It has 3 GB of RAM and comes with 16/32 GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card. It runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat with Emotion UI 2.3 on top of it. Hopefully, Huawei will provide an Android 5.0 Lollipop update as well. The device is 7.5 mm thick and weighs only 165 grams.
The Huawei Honor 6 Plus has dual 8-megapixel rear cameras with F2.0 aperture and also has dual LED flash. Huawei promises ultra fast focus speed of 0.1 second, which if true, is commendable. On the front, it has a 8-megapixel front facing camera with 5P lens and Sony BSI sensor with F2.4 aperture for selfies and video calling.
The Honor 6 Plus has 4G LTE Cat6 / 3G HSPA+, standard WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (dual band), Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, GPS, GLONASS. It packs in a 3,600 mAh battery under the hood. It is a dual SIM phablet which supports one micro SIM and one nano SIM. It also has an IR LED blaster for remote control.
The Huawei Honor 6 Plus will be available in Black, White and Gold colour variants which has been priced at 1999 yuan (USD 325/ INR 20,650 approximately). It went on sale in China on December 23 and now will be globally available for US $399. You can purchase it from Oppomart.
