Huawei Honor 5X with metal body and fingerprint sensor launched in India for Rs 12999

Huawei Honor 5X has been officially launched in India on January 28. It was introduced in China back in October last year. It is the successor of the Honor 4X that has garnered a lot of accolades from the Indian consumers. Lets check out the specifications now.


Huawei Honor 5X Specifications

The Huawei Honor 5X features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display that is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 616 (Quad 1.5 GHz + Quad 1.2 GHz) processor along with Adreno 405 GPU. It has 2 GB of RAM and comes with 16 GB of internal storage that can be further expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box with EMUI 3.1 on top of it.

The Honor 5X rocks a 13 megapixel rear primary camera with LED flash, Sony or Samsung sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 28 mm wide-angle 5P lens. There is also a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.4 aperture, 22 mm wide-angle lens and 1.4 micron pixel size for selfies and video calling. It comes with Dual SIM (micro + nano) support. It has a unibody metal build that is 8.15 mm thick and weighs 158 grams. It comes with a fingerprint scanner 2.0 that is situated below the camera on the back side and it unlocks the phone in less than 0.5 seconds, according to the company.

The Honor 5X comes with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, USB OTG and GPS as connectivity options. The phablet packs in a 3,000 mAh battery under the hood. It also has Box speakers and Smart PA audio chip on board.


The Huawei Honor 5X is available in Silver and Sunset Gold color variants and has been priced at Rs 12,999 in India. It can be pre-ordered from Flipkart and Amazon India and will go on sale starting from February 1, 2016.

Huawei has also launched the Honor Holly 2 Plus smartphone in India, priced at Rs 8,499.
