Huawei G8 phablet officially launched in China, starts at USD 370

Huawei G8 phablet has been officially launched in China, after being spotted on TENAA. It is the latest mid-range device from the company. Lets take a look at the specifications.


Huawei G8 Specifications

The Huawei G8 features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display with a pixel density of 401ppi. It is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit processor along with Adreno 405 GPU. It comes with 2 / 3 GB of RAM and has 16 / 32 GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 64 GB via microSD slot. The device will run on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box with Emotion UI on top of it.

On the camera front, it rocks a 13 megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash and PureCel sensor. There is a 5 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. It also has a fingerprint scanner at the back below the main camera.

On the connectivity front, it comes with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It packs a 3,000 mAh battery under the hood.


The Huawei G8 is available in White, Black and Gold colour variants and has been priced at US $370 (INR Rs 23,700 approximately) for the 2GB RAM & 16GB ROM variant. If you want to buy the 3GB RAM & 32GB ROM variant, it will set you back by US $434 (INR Rs 27,800 approximately). It is now available in China and there is no announcement on global launch yet.

Huawei recently launched Honor 4A in China as well.
