HTC RE Camera launched exclusively on Snapdeal in India for Rs 9,990

HTC introduced the RE Camera after unveiling the HTC Desire EYE at the Double Exposure event today in New York on recently. It essentially takes on the Go Pro market but these are for the noobs. It comes to India with an introductory price tag of Rs 9,999, will be available exclusively on Snapdeal.


HTC steps into the consumer camera space with the launch of Re Camera. It is a unique cylindrical camera which would take on the Go Pro, the only competitor in this category.

The HTC Re Camera has a 16-megapixel camera with a 1/2.3 CMOS sensor. It has a 146 degree Ultra Wide angle lens with f/2.8 aperture. It shoots 1080p Full HD videos at 30 frames per second (FPS). The camera is able to record slow motion videos at 120 frames per second and also time-lapse videos.

The Re Camera weighs only 65.5 grams and has 96.7 x 26.5 mm dimensions. It comes with 8 GB memory out of the box and can be expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card slot. It has Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi and micro-USB port for connectivity. The camera is loaded with a 820 mAh battery and HTC claims, “it is good for clicking 1.200 16-megapixel photos or 1 hour 40 minutes of continuous video recording in 1080p.” It is IP57 certified which makes it water and dust resistant, so now you can take photos while swimming as well. The HTC Re has a grip sensor and G-sensor.

The HTC Re Camera comes with a companion app for Android and iOS devices which would help us share photos and videos easily. The app is compatible with smartphones running on Android 4.3 and above, as well as iOS 7 and above.


The HTC RE Camera has been priced at just Rs 9,999 and will go on sale from November 5 exclusively on Snapdeal. It is a special promotional price which will last for a limited period. It is priced at $199.99 (Rs 12,200 approx) in USA and would be priced around Rs 12,000 when the introductory offer ends.
