If you’re interested in Nexus smartphones, then chances are that you might have already seen rumours and reports about the upcoming Nexus smartphones for 2016 codenamed as Sailfish and Marlin. Recently, leakster @Onleaks and popular blog Android Authority have shared rendered images of the upcoming HTC Nexus Sailfish smartphone along with a 360 degree video.
If you look at the rendered images and the 360 degree video, you’ll be able to get a fair idea about the final design of the Sailfish smartphone as the renders show us the phone from all possible angles. The HTC Nexus Sailfish will come with dual stereo speakers which are placed on either side of the USB Type-C port. The antenna lines will be present at the top and bottom of the back of the smartphone, just like the new iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The fingerprint sensor will be present at the back itself, like the previous Nexus devices.
The new Nexus 2016 from the house of HTC will not have a camera bump at the back. The power/lock button and volume rockers are located on the right whereas the SIM card tray is on the left. If earlier reports are to be believed, the HTC Nexus Sailfish will feature a curved aluminium body and come in multiple colors, including Black, a Silver aluminium body with white face and possibly an electric blue. Lets go through the rumoured specifications of the Sailfish below.
HTC Nexus Sailfish Rumoured Specifications
The HTC Nexus Sailfish is said to rock a 5.2-inch or 5.3-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display, that will be powered by a 2.0 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor (might also be the Snapdragon 821). There will be 4 GB of RAM and 32 GB of onboard internal storage, which will not have a microSD expansion slot. It will obviously run on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat OS out of the box.
In the camera department, the Sailfish is expected to feature a 12 megapixel rear camera along with a 8 megapixel front-facing selfie camera. The fingerprint sensor will be present at the back below the primary camera, as seen on the rendered images. It will have stereo speakers at the bottom and the 3.5 mm audio jack will be mounted at the top. It is expected to come with a 7.3 mm thick body.
In terms of connectivity options, it will come with the usual 4G with VoLTE support, Bluetooth 4.2 LE, USB Type-C, GPS and more. Under the hood, it might pack in a 2,770 mAh battery with support for fast charging.
Google might officially scrap the Nexus branding from this year and hence the new Nexus smartphones will be known as Pixel and Pixel XL for codenamed Sailfish and Marlin, respectively.
