HTC unveiled the One M9 at MWC 2015 in Barcelona along with two other devices. The company also unveiled the HTC Grip which is a wearable fitness tracker to enter the wearables market.
HTC partnered with Under Armour back in January last year and it was known that the company will enter the wearables market. Lets have a look at the specifications of HTC Grip.
HTC Grip Specifications
The HTC Grip rocks a 1.8-inch curved PMOLED touchscreen display which tracks users’ steps, running distance and notifications. The device detects sleep pattern along with total time which includes periods of deep and light sleep like the Xiaomi Mi Band. The fitness tracker is IP57 certified which makes it waterproof and can go deep into water up to 1 metre for up to 30 minutes.
The HTC Grip will use UA Record system to track runs and other workouts. This would enable the tracker to give out additional performance data to the Under Armour Connected Fitness TM platform. The Grip is compatible with Android 4.3 above, iOS 7 and above devices as well as Bluetooth enabled accessories. It will also connect with most of the external heart rate monitors, which includes the Under Armour A39. The Grip comes with a 100 mAh battery which will last up to 2.5 days on a single charge.
The HTC Grip will be available in Deep Teal and Lime colour variants only at select retailers in North America from Spring 2015. There is no information on pricing or global roll out yet.
