HTC Desire EYE coming exclusively on Amazon India this November

HTC unveiled the HTC Desire EYE at their Double Exposure event in New York sometime back along with the RE Camera which is also coming to India exclusively on Snapdeal on November 5. Now, we know that the Desire EYE will be exclusive to Amazon India and will come around the same time as the RE Camera.


The HTC Desire EYE features a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display which comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top. It is powered by a 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor which comes with Adreno 330 GPU. The Desire EYE comes with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card slot. The latest Desire smartphone will run on Android 4.4.4 Kitkat with HTC’s Sense 6.0 custom UI on top.

On the camera front which is this smartphone’s speciality, it has a 13-megapixel rear camera as well as front camera. Both of them come with dual LED flash with f/2.0 aperture and wide-angle lens. It can also record videos at 1080p. It comes with HTC EYE Experience which was introduced today and it has Face Tracking, Screen Share, Split Capture, Face Fusion, Live Makeup, Auto Selfie, Voice Selfie, Photo Booth and Crop Me in.

The phone is  8.5mm in thickness and weighs only 154 grams. It has IPX7 rating which makes it water-resistant up to 1 metre for 30 minutes. The HTC Desire EYE comes with dual front-facing stereo speakers with built-in amplifiers along with HTC BoomSound.

It has standard WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4 and 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.0 with APT-X, GPS with GLONASS, NFC as well as comes with 4G LTE and 3G/HSPA+ connectivity. The smartphone is powered by a 2,400 mAh battery under the hood.

The HTC Desire EYE will be available in Matt White and Submarine Blue colour variants. We do not know about the pricing yet but it will be announced when the launch gets closer. The device will be exclusively sold on Amazon India so we might expect aggressive pricing.
