HTC has unveiled the latest budget smartphone in the Desire series known as the HTC Desire 626. The company recently launched Desire 816G Dual SIM and Desire 526G+ in India. Let us look at the specifications of the device.
HTC Desire 626 Specifications
The new HTC Desire 626 sports a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with Adreno 306 GPU. The Desire 626 comes with 1 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card. The latest Desire smartphone will run on Android 4.4 KitKat with HTC’s Sense 6.0 custom UI on top and hopefully will be updated to Android 5.0 Lollipop.
On the camera front, the HTC Desire 626 has a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, BSI sensor and f/2.2 aperture with 28 mm lens. It shoots Full HD 1080p videos as well. It has a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with BSI sensor, 34 mm lens, for your selfies and video calling and can shoot Full HD 1080p videos as well. The smartphone is 8.19 mm in thickness and weighs 140 grams.
The new HTC Desire 626 comes with 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 with aptX and GPS/GLONASS and NFC as connectivity options. The device has a 2,000 mAh battery under the hood. It comes with a single Nano SIM support but HTC is expected to come up with a dual SIM variant in the near future.
The HTC Desire 626 will be available in Elegant White and Blue Bay colour variants and has been priced at NT $5990 (US $190/ INR Rs 11,800 approximately). The smartphone will go on sale in Taiwan later this month. The Dot View case and hand-painted back cover by renowned designers will also be sold separately. There is no information on the global roll out yet.
The company has recently launched Desire 826 at CES 2015 in Las Vegas and the HTC Internet web browser on Google Play and plans to introduce budget friendly 4G LTE-enabled devices in 2015. The all new HTC flagship phone will launch at MWC 2015.
