HTC 10, the latest flagship smartphone was announced couple of days back. It comes with top of the line hardware like the Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4GB RAM, Quad HD display and more. However, a watered down ‘Lifestyle’ variant was spotted on the official HTC India website and it was being speculated that the Snapdragon 652 variant with 3GB RAM and 32GB ROM is coming to India. After facing severe criticism, HTC India has clarified that the Snapdragon 820 variant is coming to India ‘soon’. Rejoice, HTC fans!
HTC 10 Specifications
The HTC 10 sports a 5.2-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) Quad HD Super LCD 5 display which comes wrapped with 2.5D glass. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 64-bit processor along with Adreno 530 GPU. It comes with 4 GB of RAM and 32 / 64 GB of internal memory, which can further be expanded up to 2 TB via microSD card. The smartphone runs on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box with HTC’s Sense 8.0 UI on top. It supports Freestyle Layout which will let the user place Stickers all over the wallpaper, with each sticker representing an application.
On the camera front, the HTC 10 has a 12 megapixel (known as HTC Ultrapixel 2) rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/1.8 aperture, 1.55 µm pixels, Laser Auto Focus, Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). It is capable of recording 4K videos as well. It has a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with f/1.8 aperture, OIS, 1.34 µm pixels for selfies and video calling. According to HTC, this is the first smartphone in the world to sport dual OIS. It comes with a full metal body which is 3.0 – 9.0 mm thick (curved) and weighs 161 grams. The fingerprint sensor is embedded into the home button and it features the iconic HTC BoomSound, Dolby Audio, three noise cancellation microphones and 24-bit hi-res audio as well.
The HTC 10 comes with 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, USB Type-C and GPS with GLONASS as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a 3,000 mAh battery under the hood with Quick Charge 3.0 support.
The HTC 10 is available in Glacier Silver, Topaz Gold, Camellia Red and Carbon Grey color variants, price starts at US $699 (INR Rs 46,428 approximately) for the 32GB ROM variant. The flagship smartphone will start rolling out from early May and might come to India in the first wave itself.
