Huawei’s online-only brand Honor is all set to launch their latest Honor 8 smartphone in India on October 12, 2016. The company has sent out media invites for the event.
Honor will also be launching more products at the event, which will include their first ‘Made in India’ smartphone and it is expected to be the Honor 5A. Take a look at the specifications and features of both the Honor 8 and Honor 5A below.
Huawei Honor 8 Specifications
The Huawei Honor 8 features a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD 2.5D curved glass display, which has 96% NTSC color gamut. It is powered by an octa-core Kirin 950 (Quad 2.3 GHz A72 + Quad 1.8 GHz A53) 16nm processor along with Mali T880-MP4 GPU. It comes with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage or 4 GB of RAM and 32 / 64 GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box with EMUI 4.1 on top of it.
The Honor 8 rocks a 12 megapixel dual rear primary camera with dual-tone LED flash, f/2.2 aperture, Laser Auto Focus and 6P lens. It has 1.4 µm pixel size and it promises extraordinary image quality in low-light photography. On the front, there is a 8 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.4 aperture for selfies and video calling. It comes with Hybrid Dual SIM support (nano + nano/microSD) and a 3.5 mm audio jack. It has a full metal body that is 7.45 mm thick and weigh 153 grams. It features a fingerprint sensor on the back.
The Honor 8 comes with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.2, NFC, USB Type-C and GPS as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a 3,000 mAh battery under the hood with fast charging support.
Huawei Honor 5A Specifications
The Huawei Honor 5A sports a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display, that has a contrast ratio of 1000:1, viewing angle of 178-degree and is also protected by tempered glass. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz octa-core Kirin 620 processor along with Mali 450 GPU or an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 (Quad 1.5 GHz + Quad 1.2 GHz) processor with Adreno 405 GPU. It has 2 GB of RAM along with 16 GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with Emotion UI 4.1 on top of it. On the back, the Honor 5A comes with 3D patterns.
On the camera front, the Honor 5A rocks a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, 28 mm wide-angle lens and Sony/OmniVision sensor. It comes with a 8 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, Sony/Hynix BSI sensor and 27 mm wide-angle 4P lens for selfies and video calling. It supports Dual SIM, comes with a 3.5 mm audio jack and FM Radio. It is 8.45 mm thick and weighs 168 grams.
The Honor 5A includes 4G LTE with VoLTE support, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS as connectivity options. The phablet packs in a 3,100 mAh Lithium-Polymer battery under the hood.
The Honor 8 is expected to be priced around Rs 25,000 whereas the ‘Made in India’ Honor 5A should be priced below Rs 10,000. We will get to know about the exact pricing and availability on October 12. Stay tuned for more.
