Google Nexus 6 was launched by Google along with the Nexus 9 tablet in mid October. The Nexus 6 is being made in collaboration with Motorola. Just a while ago, Nexus 6 was listed on the Indian Google Play Store. The 32 GB variant has been priced at Rs 44,000 and the 64 GB variant will cost you Rs 49,000. It is listed as “Coming Soon” and there is a listing on Flipkart as well.
The latest flagship device from Google made in collaboration with Motorola is not a smartphone to be precise. The Google Nexus 6 is more like e phablet which sports a giant 5.96-inch Quad HD (2560 x 1440 pixels) AMOLED display with 493 ppi pixel density. It has a 16:9 aspect ratio and is also covered by Gorilla Glass 3 on top for protection.
The Google Nexus 6 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 805 2.7 GHz quad-core Krait 450 processor which has 3GB of RAM and comes with Adreno 420 GPU. The device runs on the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop which comes with array of changes along with the most important ‘Material Design’. The phablet is 10.06 mm thick and weighs 184 grams.
On the camera front, it has a 13-megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization. It comes with Dual LED ring flash and has a f/2.0 aperture. It also records 4K video at 30 frames per second. Nexus 6 comes with a 2-megapixel front facing camera for your selfies and you can also do HD video conferencing.
On the connectivity front, it has standard WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac 2×2 (MIMO), Bluetooth 4.1, NFC as well as comes with 4G LTE and 3G/HSPA+ connectivity. The phablet packs in a 3,200 mAh battery under the hood and Google promises Standby time (Ambient Display on) up to 250 hours. With Standby time (Ambient Display off), you will get up to 330 hours. While using internet on WiFi, users would get around 9,5 hours and up to 10 hours on LTE doing the same. The battery would last up to 10 hours with video playback and 24 hours if only used for calling.
The Google Nexus 6 comes with 32 GB and 64 GB of storage but there is no microSD card slot. You also need a Nano SIM to use the phablet. It has dual front-facing speakers with an array of sensors ranging from GPS, accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, ambient light sensor and barometer. The device comes in Midnight Blue and Cloud White colour variants and has been priced at Rs 44,000 for the 32 GB variant and Rs 49,000 for the 64 GB variant on the Indian Google Play Store. It is listed as ‘Coming Soon’ on Flipkart as well. It should go on sale by early December.
Google has also listed the Nexus 9 tablet on the Indian Play Store which starts from Rs 28,900. The Nexus 9 is also listed as ‘Coming Soon’.
