Google to launch Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P in India on October 13

Google is all set to launch the new Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P in India at an event in New Delhi on October 13.

Google India has sent out media invites to the press that will also grace the presence of Mr. Rajan Anandan, Vice President & Managing Director, Google, South East Asia & India. The Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P pricing has already been revealed, courtesy a slip up from Google Store. Price starts at Rs 31,900 and Rs 39,999 respectively. The Huawei-made Nexus 6P is dubbed as an online only device and is already been teased by Flipkart. Whereas the LG-made Nexus 5X is expected to be available in offline stores right after the official launch.

The LG-made Google Nexus 5X features a 5.2-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 (Quad 1.44 GHz ARM A53 + Quad 1.8 GHz ARM A57) 64-bit processor along with Adreno 418 GPU. It has 2 GB of RAM and comes in 16 or 32 GB internal memory that cannot be expanded via microSD card. The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. Google Now voice assistant is now always on and will work even when the screen is off.

The Nexus 5X comes with a 12.3 megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, 1.55 micron sensor, f/2.0 aperture and Laser Auto Focus. On the front, it has a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture for selfies and video calling. The smartphone is 9.7 mm thick, weighs just 136 grams and supports a Single Nano SIM. It comes with a fingerprint sensor named as Nexus Imprint on the back that can be used for secured lock, payments made via Android Pay, wake up the phone and unlock apps as well. It recognizes a fingerprint in less than 600 milliseconds, according to Google.

The Nexus 5X includes 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/ac (dual band), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and reversible USB Type-C port as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a 2,700 mAh battery under the hood. The LG-made Google Nexus 5X is available in Quartz White, Carbon Black and Ice Blue color variants.

The Huawei-made Google Nexus 6P features a 5.7-inch (2560 x 1440 pixels) Quad HD AMOLED display which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The display has a pixel density of 518 ppi. It is powered by octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 (Quad 1.5 GHz ARM A53 + Quad 1.8 GHz ARM A57) 64-bit processor along with Adreno 430 GPU. It has 3 GB of RAM and comes in 32 / 64 / 128 GB internal memory that cannot be expanded via microSD card. The device runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. Google Now voice assistant is now always on and will work even when the screen is off.

The Nexus 6P comes with a 12.3 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 1.55 µm pixels, f/2.0 aperture, smart burst. It can record 4K video and also slow motion video at 240 fps. On the front, it has a 8 megapixel front-facing camera with 1.4 µm pixels for selfies and video calling. The phablet has a full metal (anodized aluminium) body that is 7.3 mm thick, weighs just 178 grams and supports a Single Nano SIM. It comes with a fingerprint sensor named as Nexus Imprint on the back that can be used for secured lock, payments made via Android Pay, wake up the phone and unlock apps as well. It recognizes a fingerprint in less than 600 milliseconds, according to Google.

The phablet packs in a 3,450 mAh battery under the hood that supports Quick Charging. The Huawei-made Google Nexus 6P is available in Frost White, Aluminium and Graphite color variants.
