Gionee S6s running on Marshmallow OS launched in India for Rs 17999

Gionee S6s has been officially launched in India today at an event in New Delhi. It is the latest smartphone from Gionee India in the ‘S series’. Last year, the company had launched the Gionee S6 and couple of months ago, the S6 Pro was announced in China. Lets check out the specifications and features of the phablet below.

The Gionee S6s features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS 2.5D curved glass display, that is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. It is powered by a 1.8 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 64-bit processor along with Mali T860 MP2 GPU. It comes with 3 GB of RAM and has 32 GB of internal memory, that can be further expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Amigo OS 3.2 out of the box based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

The S6s rocks a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, Sony IMX258 sensor, Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF). It shoots Full HD 1080p videos. On the front, there is a 8 megapixel front-facing camera with LED flash, f/2.2 aperture and 5P lens for selfies and video calling. It supports Hybrid Dual SIM (micro + nano / microSD card), where the nano SIM slot can be used as a microSD card slot and comes with a 3.5 mm audio jack. It is 8.27 mm thick. It comes with a fingerprint sensor on the back, which can unlock the phone in just 0.3 seconds.

On the connectivity front, the S6s includes 4G with VoLTE support, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The phablet packs in a 3,150 mAh battery under the hood.

The Gionee S6s is available in Rose Gold, Gold and Silver color variants. It has been priced at Rs 17,999 in India and will be exclusively sold via Amazon India (online) and also across offline retail stores. Gionee India has also signed a popular Bollywood actress named Alia Bhatt as its brand ambassador.
