Gionee S6 has been officially launched in China. We saw a couple of leaked images ahead of the launch. However, the company has decided to drop the ‘Elife’ branding from this device, maybe to make it more appealing. Anyway, lets check out the specifications.
Gionee S6 Specifications
The Gionee S6 features a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD AMOLED display that has a 77.8% screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 64-bit processor along with Mali T-720 GPU. It comes with 3 GB of RAM and has 32 GB of internal memory that can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Amigo OS 3.1 out of the box based on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.
The S6 rocks a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash. It shoots Full HD 1080p videos. On the front, there is a 5 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. It supports Hybrid Dual SIM (micro + nano) where the nano SIM slot can be used as a microSD card slot. It is 4-6.9 mm thick (curved) and weighs 147 grams.
On the connectivity front, the S6 includes 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, USB Type C 2.0 port (reversible) and GPS. The phablet packs in a 3,150 mAh battery under the hood.
The Gionee S6 is available in Gold and Platinum color variants and has been priced at CNY 1699 (US $267 / INR Rs 17,598 approximately). It goes on sale in China starting from November 22. There is no information on the global roll out yet.
