Gionee has announced two new phablets – M6 and M6 Plus in China. Lets check out the specifications, features and pricing of the Gionee M6 here.
Gionee M6 Specifications
The Gionee M6 features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD AMOLED 2.5D curved glass display, that has a 401 PPI pixel density, 100% NTSC color gamut and 30000:1 contrast ratio. It is powered by a 1.8 GHz octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755M) 64-bit processor along with Mali T860 MP2 GPU. It comes with 4 GB of RAM and has 64 / 128 GB of internal memory, that can be further expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Amigo OS 3.2 out of the box based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The M6 rocks a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, f/2.0 aperture, Sony IMX258 sensor, 1.12 µm pixel size, 5P lens and Phase Detection Auto Focus (PDAF). On the front, there is a 8 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture, OmniVision OV8856 sensor and 1.12 µm pixel size for selfies and video calling. It supports Dual SIM and comes with a 3.5 mm audio jack. The body is made up of metal alloy treated with zircon sand surface coating, which is 8.2 mm thick and weighs 180 grams. It comes with an encrypted chip (Chinese version only) to secure a user’s personal data and also for secured calls and SMS. The International variant comes with a fingerprint sensor embedded on the home button. It also has an infrared sensor.
On the connectivity front, the M6 includes 4G with VoLTE support, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. The phablet packs in a 5,000 mAh battery under the hood that supports fast charging (9V/2A) with dual charging chip.
The Gionee M6 is available in Latte Gold and Champagne Gold color variants. It has been priced at CNY 2699 (US $405 / INR Rs 27,238 approximately) for the 64GB ROM variant and CNY 2899 (US $435 / INR Rs 29,254 approximately) for the 128GB ROM model. It is scheduled to go on sale in China from August 6, 2016. There is no information on the global roll out yet.
The company has also announced the Gionee M6 Plus, which has been priced at CNY 2999 (US $449 / INR Rs 30,275 approximately) for the 64GB ROM variant and CNY 3199 (US $480 / INR Rs 32,291 approximately) for the 128GB ROM model. It is scheduled to go on sale in China from August 13, 2016.
