Gionee M5 Plus with a whopping 6-inch display and 5020mAh battery now official

Gionee M5 Plus has been officially launched at an event in China today. It is a bigger variant of the recently launched Gionee Marathon M5. Lets check out the specifications now.


Gionee M5 Plus Specifications

The Gionee M5 Plus features a 6-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD AMOLED display with 2.5D arc glass. The screen-to-body ratio of the phone is 77.5%. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6753 64-bit processor along with Mali-T720 GPU. It has 3 GB of RAM and comes with 64 GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop with the company’s Amigo UI 3.1 on top of it. It has a fingerprint sensor embedded into its home button that promises a response time of 0.1 seconds and a recognition time of 0.38 seconds.

The M5 Plus comes with a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, 5P lenses. It shoots Full HD (1080p) videos. It has a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with 84-degree ultra-wide angle lens for selfies and video calling. The phablet has a unibody metal build which is 8.4 mm thick and weighs 208 grams. It supports dual SIM (micro) feature, comes with 3.5 mm audio jack and FM Radio.


The M5 Plus comes with 4G LTE (on both SIMs), 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, USB OTG, GPS and USB Type-C as connectivity options. The phablet packs in a whopping 5,020 mAh battery under the hood with fast charging capabilities. Only 1 hour of charging will offer up to 1 day of usage. It can also charge other devices and act as a powerbank and has fast dual charging chips.

The Gionee M5 Plus is available in Gold and Silver color variants and has been priced at CNY 2,499 (US $385 / INR Rs 25,558 approximately). It can now be ordered in China from the official Gionee shop and will go on sale starting from December 25, 2015.

The company has also launched a cheaper variant called the Gionee M5 Enjoy priced at NY 1,999 (US $308 / INR Rs 20,433 approximately).
