Gionee introduces GPAD G5 in India for Rs 14,999

Gionee has introduced a new phablet called the Gionne GPAD G5 today in India for a price of Rs 14,999. Gionee has been doing very well since launching in India and has done 500 crore worth of business in India in 2013. Let’s take a detailed look at their new offering.



The Gionee GPAD G5 is powered by a 1.5 GHz HexaCore processor with Mali 450 GPU. It has a 5.5-inch 720 HD IPS display. It also runs on the latest Android 4.4 Kitkat out of the box. The phablet’s dimensions are 157.3 x 77.6 x 7.9 mm. So, it is only 7.9 mm in thickness.

GPAD G5 comes with a 8 megapixel primary camera with auto-focus on the rear and 2 megapixel secondary camera on the front for Selfies. The phablet comes with 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of internal memory with expandable memory upto 32 GB. It supports GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz bands as well as WCDMA 900/2100 MHz bands. It is a dual SIM phone with dual standby facility. It comes with Dragontail glass cover over its 5.5-inch HD screen and also has dual crystal loud speaker with DTS.



The phablet comes with a 2400 mAh battery which should give a decent battery backup. It has 3G, GPS/A-GPS, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0. This phablet is specially targeted at the young urban crowd with best in class features.
