Cyanogen OS 12 OTA update paused due to addition of “OK OnePlus” feature

The Cyanogen OS 12 OTA update for the OnePlus One was finally released on April 14. The OTA update has been paused due to an addition of feature known as “OK OnePlus”.

OK OnePlus

Carl Pei, Co-founder of OnePlus tweeted, “OTA rollout was paused due to “OK OnePlus” feature being added. Should resume next week.” It was tweeted just after the announcement of OnePlus One going on open sale forever.

However, “Those who¬†don’t want to wait, feel free to flash manually”, said Carl. Someone asked on Twitter, “‘OK OnePlus’ is this basically Ok Google?” To which, Carl said, “It will work even when the screen is off.”

The “OK OnePlus” command will work when the screen is off is similar to the one seen on the Moto X. Also, do not worry if you have already updated to CM 12, the voice command feature will come as another OTA update nonetheless.

We do not have any information if “OK OnePlus” feature will be ported to OnePlus’ own OxygenOS in the near future but it could very well be seen after a few iteration.
