Cyanogen OS 12 Lollipop update starts rolling out on YU Yureka

Cyanogen OS 12 based on Lollipop started rolling out for the OnePlus One couple of days back. Its time for YU Yureka to get the Cyanogen OS 12 Lollipop update now.


YU, the sister concern of Micromax, partnered with Cyanogen Inc exclusively in India and launched YU Yureka running on Cyanogen OS. YU and Cyanogen promised Lollipop update on Yureka ahead of any other device (OnePlus One) but alas OnePlus One got it couple of days earlier.

Never mind, YU! Its better late than never. The Cyanogen OS 12 Lollipop update started rolling out on Yu Yureka since yesterday (April 16) and will reach all the devices in phase across 3 days, announced by Rahul Sharma, Founder of YU.

The Cyanogen OS 12 is based on Android Lollipop 5.0.2 and it implements material design language throughout the whole operating system. Cyanogen OS has never looked better after the addition of material design elements of visual, motion and interaction design, claims Cyanogen Inc.


A new feature called App Themer has been introduced in the Cyanogen OS 12 Lollipop update that gives extra theming features, down to the granular ability to theme individual apps. More number of free and paid themes have been added. This now makes it even easier to customize your device than never before.

The new Cyanogen email client, powered by Boxer is making a debut with the Cyanogen OS 12. The premium version of Boxer now comes for free to all Cyanogen OS users. Now you can enjoy Exchange support, multiple account integration and canned responses for quick replies. You can customize your email and make it more fun by adding a different LED colour for email notifications and choose what happens when you swipe left or right on a message. More Indian languages – Bengali, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil and Telugu are now supported in the keyboard.

The Cyanogen OS 12 Lollipop update for YU Yureka started rolling out yesterday and will be distributed to all the devices over OTA within 3 days, as promised by the company. If you just cannot wait for the update, download the zip file from here and flash it.
