Coolpad Mega 2.5D with 3GB RAM, 8 MP front-camera launched in India

Coolpad India has officially launched the Coolpad Mega 2.5D phablet in India at an event in New Delhi today. The company had earlier launched the Coolpad Max with premium build and top-notch specifications back in May, but the pricing (Rs 24,999) did not make it a successful product.

Hence, they are back in the space which they dominate, i.e., sub Rs 10,000 market. Lets check out the specifications and features of the device below.

The Coolpad Mega 2.5D features a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD 2.5D curved glass display, that is powered by a 1.0 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735P processor along with Mali-T720 MP2 GPU. It has 3GB of RAM and comes with 16 GB of internal memory, which can also be further expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card. The device runs on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with Cool UI 8.0 on top of it.

The Mega 2.5D comes with a 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash, Sony sensor and f/2.2 aperture. On the front, there is another 8 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.2 aperture and 83.6-degrees wide-angle lens for selfies and video calling. It supports Dual SIM, comes with a 3.5 mm audio jack and FM Radio. It is 7.85 mm thick and weighs 143 grams.

The Mega 2.5D includes 4G with VoLTE support, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, USB OTG and GPS as connectivity options. The phablet rocks a 2,500 mAh battery under the hood.

The specifications of the Coolpad Mega is similar to that of the Coolpad Note 3 Lite. It misses out on a fingerprint sensor, a 13 megapixel rear camera but gains with the 5.5-inch display, 8 megapixel front-facing camera, Android Marshmallow OS out of the box and 4G VoLTE support. However, both the devices are available for the same price.

The Coolpad Mega 2.5D is available in Gold, Champagne and Silver color variants. It has been priced at Rs 6,999 in India and will go on sale exclusively on Amazon India starting from August 24, 2016 via flash sale.
