Cat phones have announced their latest high-end smartphone at the IFA. The Cat 50 is the company’s latest rugged smartphone for outdoors. The device is scratch resistant, water proof, dust proof with IP67 ratings and can withstand even a drop onto concrete since it has Mil Spec 810G certification for impact resistance.
The device has a 4.7-inch 720p screen with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and wet-finger tracking, powered by 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 (MSM8926) processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It also has Cat Phones app Store that has over 1000 apps relevant for work and play.
Cat 50 has an 8-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, VGA front-facing camera, 4G LTE connectivity, 2GB RAM, 8GB of internal storage with expansion slot and a 22630 mAh battery. It has performance enhancing audio technology developed by Waves, for better listening experience even outdoors. The device comes in color variant of Slate and Forest, integrated into shock absorbent rubber and carry a price tag of $499.
