Telefónica has launched the BQ Aquaris X5 smartphone in Europe that runs on Cyanogen OS 12.1 by teaming up with BQ and Cyanogen Inc. Lets have a look at the specifications of the smartphone.
BQ Aquaris X5 Specifications
The BQ Aquaris X5 features a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display with NTSC 85% and is protected by Asahi Dragontrail glass. It is powered by a 1.4 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 412 (MSM8916T) 64-bit processor along with 465 MHz Adreno 306 GPU. It has 2 GB of RAM and comes with 16 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card. The device runs on Cyanogen OS 12.1 based on Android 5.1 Lollipop out of the box.
The X5 comes with a 13 megapixel rear primary camera with dual LED flash, Sony IMX214 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 5P lens, 1/3.06″ sensor size. It also shoots Full HD 1080p videos. On the front, there is a 5 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture, Samsung 5E2 sensor, 4P lens and LED flash for selfies and video calling. The smartphone supports Dual SIM (nano), also comes with 3.5 mm audio jack and FM Radio. It is 7.5 mm thick and weighs 148 grams.
The BQ Aquaris X5 includes 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0, USB OTG and GPS as connectivity options. The smartphone packs in a 2,900 mAh battery under the hood.
The BQ Aquaris X5 Cyanogen Edition has started rolling out in Spain from today. It will be coming to Germany and the UK in the coming weeks. The smartphone has been priced at 209 Euros (US $224 / INR Rs 14,830 approximately) without contract and if you choose to buy it on a 24 months contract, then it will cost 8.7 Euros per month. Telefonica promises to bring these devices to other countries throughout 2016 where it operates. The device will also be sold via Movistar commercial network in Spain.
