BlackBerry Passport has been priced at Rs 49990 in India, pre-booking starts today on Amazon and BlackBerry exclusive stores

BlackBerry had announced its latest high-end smartphone, Passport to gain some lost grounds on September 25. Today, it has been launched in India for a price of Rs 49,990. You can pre-order it on here.


The BlackBerry Passport sports a 4.5″ diagonal (1440 x 1440) display with 441 PPI pixel density. It is a 10-point multi-touch display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The phone is powered by 2.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 (MSM8974-AA) processor with Adreno 330 GPU. It comes with 3 GB of LPDDR3 800 MHz RAM and 32 GB of internal storage, can be expanded up to 64 GB with microSD card.

BlackBerry’s latest flagship offers a 13-megapixel auto-focus camera with 6DOF OIS. It has a BSI sensor with a 5-element f2.0 lens and a LED flash. It shoots 1080p videos at 60 fps. On the front, it has a 2-megapixel fixed focus camera with image and video stabilization. It records 720p HD videos.

BlackBerry Passport runs on BlackBerry OS 10.3 out of the box and comes with new BlackBerry Assistant, the company’s own personal assistant. The phone weighs 194.4 grams and its dimensions are 128 x 90.3 x 9.3mm. On the connectivity front, it has 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.0 LE, SlimPort, NFC, GPS + GLONASS. It is packed with 3.450 mAh non-removable battery under the hood to power the beast.

The latest BlackBerry smartphone comes with an updated keyboard with touch enabled keys and it is mainly aimed at the enterprise consumers. Square screen will be more productive, according to the company. The phone will also be pre-loaded with the Amazon app store for all the Android app needs. BlackBerry world app store would focus on enterprise apps.

The BlackBerry Passport will come in Black and White colour variants and has been priced at Rs 49,990 in India. The smartphone can be pre-booked from Amazon India and BlackBerry exclusive stores starting from today  till October 10. It will go on sale or be available from October 10 itself. Consumers who will pre-book it on Amazon India will be eligible for Rs 5000 worth Amazon gift card and 5000 complimentary miles from Jet Airways.
