BlackBerry has announced a full touch smartphone at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 in Barcelona. It is called the BlackBerry Leap. The company unveiled Limited Edition BlackBerry Passport recently. Lets have a look at the specifications of the smartphone.
BlackBerry Leap Specifications
The BlackBerry Leap features a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) display with 16:9 ratio. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 MSM8960 processor with Adreno 225 GPU. It has 2 GB of RAM and comes with 16 GB of internal memory which can also be expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card. The device runs on BlackBerry OS 10.3.1 out of the box, which comes with BlackBerry Assistant feature and Amazon App Store for downloading Android apps.
The BlackBerry Leap comes with a 8 megapixel rear primary camera with LED flash which can shoot Full HD 1080p videos at 30fps. On the front, it has a 2 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling which can shoot 720p HD videos. It supports only one SIM and also has a 3.5 mm audio jack and FM radio. It is 9.5 mm thick and weighs 170 grams.
The BlackBerry Leap comes with 4G LTE, 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS and GLONASS as connectivity options. The smartphone comes with a 2,800 mAh battery under the hood which promises up to 25 hours of battery life with heavy usage.
The BlackBerry Leap is available in Grey colour and has been priced at US $275 (INR Rs 17,000 approximately). It will go on sale around April 2015 in Europe.
