ASUS Zenfone Zoom with 3X optical zoom to go on sale in USA in February, price starts at USD 399

ASUS Zenfone Zoom was announced one year back at CES 2015. It is a camera-centric phone that comes with 3X optical zoom. The company has announced at CES 2016 that the device will go on sale in USA next month. Lets check out the specifications.


ASUS Zenfone Zoom ZX551ML Specifications

The ASUS Zenfone Zoom features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD display which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It is powered by a 2.3 GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 / 2.5 GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3590 64-bit processor with PowerVR G6430 GPU. It has 4 GB of LPDDR3 RAM and comes with 64 / 128 GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 128 GB via microSD card. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out of the box with Zen UI on top of it.

The phablet comes with 13 megapixel rear camera with f/2.7-4.8 aperture, Real Tone flash, Laser AF, OIS and 3X optical zoom. On the front, it has a 5 megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calling. It is 5-11.95 mm thick and weighs 185 grams. It comes with an aluminium unibody frame along with a leather back cover.

On the connectivity front, it comes with 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and GPS. The phablet comes with a 3,000 mAh battery under the hood that supports ASUS BoostMaster fast charging.


The ASUS Zenfone Zoom will be available in Black and White color variants and will go on sale in USA around February 2016. Pricing starts at US $399 (INR Rs 26,549 approximately) for the 64GB variant but there is no information regarding the price of the 128GB variant.

ASUS India has announced that they will be launching the ASUS Zenfone Zoom in India later this month (January). So, India will be getting the much delayed device from ASUS before USA. It will be priced around Rs 25,000 – Rs 28,000 in India.
