ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe with Snapdragon 823 SoC rumoured to land in Asia soon

ASUS has recently announced the Zenfone 3 Deluxe with Snapdragon 820 SoC, 6GB RAM and more, however there is a new rumour in town that the company will soon launch a variant of the device powered by a Snapdragon 823 processor. It is basically the same chipset as the Snapdragon 820 but will run on a higher clock speed.

According to the rumour, the new Zenfone 3 Deluxe variant will be available in niche Asian markets like Philippines and India in August. There is no information on the upcoming device’s pricing yet however the Zenfone 3 Deluxe price starts at US $499 for the 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM model. Also, it will be safe to assume that the current ‘Snapdragon 820 Deluxe’ model won’t make it to these countries. Lets check out the specifications of the device once again.

The ASUS Zenfone 3 Deluxe features a 5.7-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD Super AMOLED display, which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and has 100% NTSC color. The display has a screen-to-body ratio of 79% and comes with a 1.3 mm ultra narrow bezel. It is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor along with Adreno 530 GPU. It has 6 GB of RAM and comes with 64 / 128 / 256 GB of internal memory, which is expandable via microSD card. It runs on the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out of the box with Zen UI 3.0 on top of it. The device comes with an aluminium alloy unibody design and does not have any antenna lines at the back, which is usually seen on the metal smartphones.

The Zenfone 3 Deluxe rocks a 23 megapixel rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, Sony IMX318 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, 6P Largan lens, 4-axis OIS, 3-axis EIS and Laser AF. It has ASUS TriTech autofocus system, which will automatically select 2nd generation laser, phase detection or continuous focus for 0.03 second quick focus and subject tracking. It also shoots 4K videos and comes with ASUS Pixelmaster 3.0 camera software. On the front, it has a 8 megapixel front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture and 85-degree wide-angle lens for selfies and video calling. It supports Hybrid Dual SIM (micro + nano/microSD), and comes with a fingerprint sensor on the back. It is 4.2 ~ 7.5 mm thick and weighs 170 grams. The device also has dual five-magnet speakers along with NXP smart amplifier and Hi-Res Audio (HRA).

On the connectivity front, it comes with 4G LTE with VoLTE support, 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (Dual Band), Bluetooth 4.2, USB 3.0 Type-C and GPS. The phablet comes with a 3,000 mAh battery under the hood, that supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and BoostMaster Fast Charging.
