ASUS X550 phablet now selling globally with free worldwide shipping

A new ASUS device is up for grab globally. It’s the ASUS X550 phablet that comes unlocked and can be used with most telecom operators from around the world. Lets take a closer look at it.


The ASUS X550 is available in White color and comes in two storage variants – the 16GB and the 32GB. The X550 16GB is priced at $259.99 but can be purchased for $254.89 after applying a coupon code – ASX550. Whereas the X550 32GB usually costs $275.89 but can be purchased for $267.89 after applying the coupon code – ASX550GB. Both the variants will start shipping from October 31, 2015.

The e-commerce giant from China delivers in most countries with free shipping. However, you could also expedite the shipping by paying nominal charges and get it within 3-7 business days. Lets have a look at the specifications and features of the device.

ASUS X550 Specifications

The ASUS X550 features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD IPS display. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (MSM8939) 64-bit processor along with Adreno 405 GPU. It has 3 GB of RAM and comes with 16 / 32 GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 32 GB via microSD card. It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out of the box.

The X550 is equipped with a 13 megapixel rear camera with LED flash. On the front, there is a 8 megapixel front-facing camera for selfies and video calling. It is 8.3 mm thick and weighs 156 grams. It supports Dual SIM (micro) with Dual standby mode.

On the connectivity front, the X550 has 4G LTE (FDD-LTE : 1800/2100/2600 MHz), 3G (WCDMA : 850/900/1900/2100 MHz), 2G (GSM : 900/1800/1900 MHz), WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. It has a 3,000 mAh non-removable battery under the hood.
